History
The villa was built in 1932 in the style reminiscent of the functionalism in the First Czechoslovak Republic (1918–1938). This is demonstrated not only through the building layout but also through corresponding clear lines of the interior. Spacious hallways are linked by wooden stairs and complemented with beautiful high ceilings, they show the intention of original owners to connect the villa with a beautiful garden.
The first major renovation took place in 2002, when the disposition of the villa was changed. The original building of an ordinary house was converted into a boarding house in order to offer accommodation services. The new building offers six rooms, a common room, a kitchen and a wellness facility in the premises of the original cellar. And also a new private parking for guests.
Today
The second renovation which took place in 2012 continued to build on the previous changes and emphasized the natural charm of the villa. The new intention, hiding the desire of original owners to return splendour to the place and wake beauty of the First Republic, was supported by the new equipment and design elements by world-renowned designers.
The new styling of the villa was commissioned by the design studio DOČKAL DESIGN. Thanks to the considerate architectural design of interiors and exteriors and thanks to new forms of presentation, RESIDENCE ARX regained its elegance and flair with a sense of humour.
During renovation, as hearty materials were used as in the period when the house was originally built. The combination of modern and time-tested design features allows to achieve a delicate balance between style and elegance, modern technology and fine extravagance.
